This KB Document contains helpful hints and first-time instructions for K12 Dual-Credit instructors to access FVTC's sites and systems.


Welcome to Fox Valley Technical College, we’re excited to have you join us on our K12 Dual-Credit team! Here are a few things to know to access FVTC's technology and systems. 

ACCESSING YOUR FVTC ACCOUNT

Your FVTC ID and Username

Your username for our sites is your nine-digit FVTC ID number followed by "@fvtc.edu" (example: 123456789@fvtc.edu). Our sites do not allow you to sign in with your email address—you must enter your username. If your computer or web browser automatically populate your email address on our Sign in page, please select the lower option to "Use another account" where you will be prompted to enter your username.

Your FVTC Password

Once you have your FVTC ID number, you’ll need to set the password for your account.

To set or reset your password, visit www.fvtc.edu > STAFF > RESET PASSWORD

In the Email or Username prompt, enter your FVTC username. You must enter your nine-digit FVTC ID number followed by "@fvtc.edu" (example: 123456789@fvtc.edu). Our sites do not allow you to sign in with your email address—you must enter your username.

Setting up Multi-Factor Authentication

The first time you sign in to your account, you will be prompted and required to enroll in Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (Microsoft MFA). Click Next to continue.
More information required. Your organization needs more information to keep your account secure. Next.

You will be required to Keep your account secure by setting up one or more MFA methods. The recommended default method is to install the Microsoft Authenticator app. The Microsoft Authenticator app is available for free download for most major smartphones with the Download now link. Once downloaded onto your smartphone, click Next.

If you cannot or do not wish to use the Microsoft Authenticator app, you may select the link at the bottom: I want to set up a different method (skip to the bottom of this guide to continue with instructions to setup a different method).

Keep your account secure. Set up one mor more MFA methods. Microsoft Authenticator. Next.

On your phone, open the Microsoft Authenticator app and add an account, selecting "Work or school". Click Next.

On your phone, select the option to Scan QR code. Point your phone's camera at the QR code generated on your screen.

Scan the QR code. After you scan the QR code, choose Next.

Microsoft will provide you with a 2 digit number and prompt you for it in the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smartphone. Enter it and click Yes in the Are you trying to sign in? prompt.
Let's try it out. Enter the number shown below.

Once the Notification is approved, click Next.

You will receive confirmation that are successfully enrolled and have the Microsoft Authenticator app set up as your Default sign-in method.

Success. You have successfully set up your security info. Default sign-in method: Microsoft Authenticator. Next.

I want to set up a different method

When prompted to get the Microsoft Authenticator app, choose the option at the bottom: I want to set up a different method.

In the Choose a different method box, choose the Phone dropdown option and click Continue.

Choose a different method. Select Phone in the dropdown. Continue.

Select your country code and enter a full phone number where you're able to receive a direct phone call or text message code. Choose whether to "Receive a code" for a text message, or "Call me" to receive a phone call. Click Next.

If you opted to Receive a code, you will receive a text message containing a 6 digit code. Enter it in the prompt and click Next.

If you opted to receive a call, you will have to answer the incoming phone call and follow the spoken directions to approve.

Once your phone has been registered, click Next to finish.

Blackboard

Blackboard is our Learning Management System and primary online class resource for all of your classes, assignments, tests, and projects. 

Your instructional department contact is your primary resource for the curriculum within Blackboard.

Sign in with your FVTC username, password, and complete Multi-Factor Authentication.

Workday (MyFVTC Account)

Workday is our system containing student information, courses, rosters, and where you will enter your final grades for your course section.

To access Workday, visit www.fvtc.edu > STAFF > WORKDAY

Sign in with your FVTC username, password, and complete Multi-Factor Authentication.
