Microsoft Office 365 Software Download

Install Microsoft 365 from office.com and sign in to activate.

Why it matters:

This gives you full desktop apps like Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams tied to your student or employee account.

Do this first

  • Confirm license: You must have a Microsoft 365 Apps license.
  • Close apps: Shut down any open Office apps.
  • Check internet: Required for download and install

Install Steps

  1. Go to office.com
  2. Click Sign in and use your FVTC username, password, and complete Multi-Factor Authentication
  3. From the grid menu, select More apps

  4. Select Install apps (or Apps & devices)
  5. Choose Microsoft 365 apps
  6. Select Install Office
  7. Open the downloaded installer
  8. Click Yes if prompted
  9. Wait for install to finish
  10. Open Word or Excel
  11. Sign in to activate

Common fixes

Missing "Install apps":

  • Did not sign in with FVTC account

Install won't start:

  • Restart your PC
  • Check admin rights on your computer
  • Re-download installer

Not activated:

  • Sign out of Office
  • Sign back in
