This article will show the steps in how to change your display settings for multiple displays.

How to change display settings/resolution for multiple displays


Display Settings in Windows

To change the displays from duplicate to Multiple displays.

  • Right click on the desktop and select Display Settings
  • Scroll down to the “Multiple displays” section
  • Click on the drop down and select Extend these display

To set the main display

  • Determine which display is which by clicking on the Identify button.
  • A number will appear on your displays in the lower left corner.
  • At the top of the Display page, click on the display that you want set as the main display. In the image below, it is 2.

  • Scroll down to the Multiple displays section and check the box “Make this my main display”
  •  Display03
  •  Test to make sure your cursor can move back and forth from one display to the other.
    •  If not, at the top of the display page, click, hold, and then drag one display over to the other side, and then release.
    • Then click the Apply button and test to see if the cursor now can go from one display to the other.Display04

To set the screen Resolution:

  • In the Display settings page, at the top, under Display, select the display you want to adjust.
  • Scroll down to the Scale and layout section.Display05
  • In the “Change the size or text, apps, and other items” click on the drop down and select the recommended or to your preference.
  • Under the “Display resolution”, click on the drop down and select the Recommended or which looks best to you.

Display Settings in Citrix

Workspace or Light Version/HTML 5:

  • Log into Citrix, Login
  • Click on Desktops on the blue ribbon and select the Desktop that you need, such as, Windows 10 General.
  • Click on the black half circle with the three lines, top center, of the window.CitrixDisplay01
  • Hover over and click on the icon that says Multi-monitor.
  • It will open up a window inside of Citrix. Put your cursor to the edge of that window until you see the double arrows. Then left click and hold and then drag that window over to the other display, almost all the way over.
  • Then click on the maximize button, top right of window.
    • Note 1: For best results and to work properly, all screens must be the same resolution and orientation (portrait or landscape, not a combination).
    • Note 2: if you want to revert back to one display, click the restore down button, top right, and close that window.

Citrix Workspace/Receiver:

  • Click on the down arrow in the black rectangle, top center, of the window.CitrixDisplay03
  • Click on the Full screen icon.CitrixDisplay02
  • Put your cursor to the edge of that window until you see the double arrows. Then left click and hold and then drag that window over to the other display, almost all the way over.
  • Then click on the arrow at the top and click on the Full Screen icon.
    • Note 1: For best results and to work properly, all screens must be the same resolution and orientation (portrait or landscape, not a combination).
    • Note 2: If you want to revert back to one display click on the arrow at the top and click on the Window icon.
    • Then, left click and hold and then drag that window to the display you want it.
    • Then just click on the maximize button, top right
