Using the Scan-X Scanner - Scanning Exposed Plates
- Ready correct plate guides (size 1 or size 2)
- Make sure the Scan-X machine is powered up
- Log into Eaglesoft (ES)
- Click on the Patient button, type in the name of patient, and then select use, at the bottom
- From bottom left side of screen, click New Exams
- Click on the template that matches the plates you exposed (ex. 18 FMX Horizontal- Scan X Network)
- Click Acquire on the top right of tool bar.
- Wait for TWAIN- ScanX Intraoral preview screen, wait for it to say Device Ready.
- Note: Empty template orientation of films is OPPOSITE of how they will appear in the mount so horizontal will appear as a vertical plate and vertical will appear as horizontal
- Check scanner machine screen for Green bars. The scanner is ready to accept plates.
- Open barrier of plate labeled #1
- Remove plate guide from the far-left side of machine, hold plate by edges and load plate with the lettering facing out and the small a entering the machine first.
- Snap in guide and push down on plastic lever to engage machine.
- Green bar on scanner screen will turn yellow. DO NOT place another plate into this slot until the bar turns back to green.
- Open barrier for plate labeled #2 and placed in second guide moving in order from left to right on the Scanner. There are four slots that can be used to accept the plates.
- If plates are loaded in order into the scanner, they will load into the template correctly and there will be no need for mounting.
- As plates are scanned, they will be erased so the plates will be ready for the next patient.
- When all plates have been scanned in, click on the tooth icon (save all marked images), upper right corner on the VistaEasyView screen
- Note: If the VistaEasyView window disappears, minimize the window that you are on and it should be there.
- Then click close on the TWAIN screen.
- The images will load into the template.
