How to Save Files using Citrix Workspace App for HTML5
This document will outline how to get files to a Citrix virtual desktop from a local desktop/laptop while using Citrix Workspace app for HTML5. This article does not apply to users who have the Citrix Workspace App for Windows/Mac. We recommend using Google Chrome as the browser while using Citrix Workspace App for HTML5 and use it for this document.
Downloading a File from a Citrix Desktop to your Local Computer
This will guide you on how to take a file that is currently on your Citrix Desktop and saving it to your local computer.
1. From within the Citrix Desktop, click the half circle button (with 3 horizontal lines) to expose the toolbar
2. Once the Citrix toolbar is expanded, click the download button.
3. Browse to the file on the Citrix desktop that you want to download to your local desktop.
4. Click the file you want to download to your local desktop, and hit "open".
5. Now a window will appear on your local desktop, asking where you want to save the file. Browse to any location on your local computer that you wish to save the file to, and hit save. (Think of this as downloading a file from a website, and saving to your local machine)
6. Once the file has downloaded, you now have it on your local machine.
Uploading a File from your Local Computer to a Citrix Desktop
This will guide you on how to take a file that is currently on your local computer and saving it to a Citrix Desktop.
1. From within the Citrix Desktop, click the half circle button (with 3 horizontal lines) to expose the toolbar
2. Once the Citrix toolbar is expanded, click the upload button.
3. An open file dialog will appear on your local computer. Browse to a file you wish to upload to the citrix desktop, then click "Open"
4. From within the Citrix Desktop, choose the location you wish to save the new file. Then click "OK"
5. After a few moments, the file will appear at the location you chose in the Citrix desktop
