Blackboard | How To Create Smart Views For Stacked Courses

This will guide you on creating smart views in a course's gradebook

1. Log into Blackboard.

2. Click Courses.

3. Click on the course you creating smart views for.

4. Scroll down to the Course Management section in on the left side. 

5. Click on Grade Center.

6. Click on Full Grade Center.

7. Hover over Mange, then click Smart Views.

8. Click Create Smart View.

9. Give your view a name.

10. Mark Add as Favorite. (This will make it appear as a shortcut)

11. For Type of View, select Custom

12. For User Criteria, select Child Course ID.   

13. For Condition, select Equal to.

14. Enter in the section ID you'd like to make a smart view for.

Note

The child course is always be the same as the parent course, except for the section number.

Example:

Parent/Main Course: 10254123-1-2024fall

Child Course 1: 10254123-2-2024fall

Child Course 2: 10254123-3-2024fall

red = section number

15. Click Submit button located at the bottom of the page.

16. Your newly created smart view will now be located under Grade Center in your course's Course Management section.
