Printing | How do I Fax from a Printer?

This article is for all students and staff who need to send a fax from a printer on any FVTC campus.

  1. Start by loading your document in the printer feed tray or place it on the scanning deck.

  2. Log in using your credentials.  There are two ways.

    a.       Type in your user ID/password on the touch panel, OR

    b.       Swipe your Staff or Student ID card.

                                                                   i.      The first time you use your ID card, the printer will prompt you to register your card.

                                                                 ii.       You will need to enter in your credentials one time and then you will be able to swipe your card every time after that.

  3. Press the button to Scan

  4. Press the button for Outbound Fax

  5. Tap the box on the touchscreen to enter the 11 Digit fax number.  Delete the example in the box.  Enter a 1 and area code plus the seven digit fax number without any dashes.  PLEASE NOTE! Even when faxing to a local number, the 1 and area code are required.

  6. After entering the 11 digit phone number, tap the screen outside of the box to clear the keyboard.  If the screen is not touched outside the Fax Number box, the field will still be highlighted.  The fax will fail if the fax number box has the blue border when the start button is pressed!

  7. Verify your settings and press the Start key.
