Administrative Account Access on VPN

This article highlights the different protocols for accessing VPN with administrator credentials.

Accessing Elevated Access when OFF Campus

There will be NO additional steps when accessing OFF campus

  1. Launch Cisco AnyConnect...
    1. ... from your system tray  ~or~

    2. ... from your start menu.

  2. Enter 'vpn.fvtc.edu' in the box and click on CONNECT (in AnyConnect) when prompted.

  3. Enter your ADMINISTATOR Account user ID and Password (e.g. - a123456789)

  4. Select your Duo Prompt preference and Accept.

  5. Connection is successful after this step.

Accessing Elevated Access when ON Campus or in VIRTUAL Desktops

When on campus, AnyConnect MUST be quit first so you can enter your administrator credentials.

  1. In the system tray, locate the AnyConnect icon.

  2. Right click on that and select "Quit."

  3. From the Start Menu, search for or locate Cisco AnyConnect

  4. Right Click on the icon and select More > Run As Different User.

  5. Enter your administrator credentials in the dialog box and click OK.

  6. Enter 'vpn.fvtc.edu' in the box and click on CONNECT (in AnyConnect) when prompted.

  7. Select your Duo Prompt preference and click Accept.  PLEASE NOTE!  It will automatically detect your administrator credentials.

  8. Connection is successful after this step.
