Here is a list of tools to use when telecommuting at FVTC.

The following is a list of resources available for staff to work from locations other than physically at his/her desk.

If you just need to access your email, Teams, Office Products (Word, Excel, etc) & One Drive files:

We recommend using Office 365 online!

If you need to access college shared drives, like the O Drive, Adobe or specific internal web applications:

We recommend using a Citrix Virtual Desktop!

If you have applications installed directly to your FVTC computer or more advanced computing needs:

We recommend using Remote Desktop Connection!

Office 365 Login

This link will let you access your email, online access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and your OneDrive files. 

Citrix (Virtual Windows 10 Desktop)

This link will take you to the Citrix login page.
The Virtual Windows 10 desktop is just like logging into any staff computer on campus, except you do this via any web browser.

Remote Desktop Connection

This access tool allows you to log into your FVTC computer from a home computer, just as if you were sitting in your cube or office.
The following two steps are needed to make this work. 

Staff Citrix Reference Center
This link will give you additional help on how to get started with Citrix (Virtual Desktop).
Step 1: Connect to VPN
This link will take you to instructions on 
how to connect to our VPN (Virtual Private Network). 

 Step 2: Access your FVTC Computer
This link will will take you to instructions on how to access your computer in your office or cube.
(1) You must know your FVTC computer name,  and 
(2) Your FVTC computer must be powered on. 


 Clock In / Clock Out 

This link will let you access the MyHR system from home.

 Using a cell phone as your work phone

You can make your cell phone work like your desk phone while keeping your personal cell number PRIVATE!

This link will give you a comprehensive list of tools, tips and techniques for  you to use to set-up, enhance, and improve your Blackboard Courses.
